Lang Co Beach, famous for its wonderful landscapes, white sand dunes and blue waters, is one of the most popular destinations in the central Vietnam.
The quickest and easiest way to get to Lang Co is via a taxi from the Da Nang International Airport. Most taxis are metered and will cost approximately 450,000 VND inclusive of tolls and airport exit fees. Or private car service from Da Nang.
The taxi driver will always go through the tunnel, if left to his own devices, but for a more interesting ride which should only cost a further 150,000 VND, ask the driver to take the Hai Van Pass. The Hai Van Pass route will take about 50 minutes from the airport to Lang Co, while the tunnel route will take approximately 35 minutes.
There are no buses from the Da Nang international airport. To take a bus would require taking a taxi from the airport to the bus terminal for approximately 50,000 VND and then taking the bus from the terminal to Lang Co at a cost of 15,000 VND. These buses generally wait until they are full and the temperature inside can get very hot.
The best way to get around Lang Co is by a motorbike or a bicycle, especially going around the tranquil lagoon.
The beauty of Lang Co beach
Lang Co Beach, surrounded by mountains, tropical jungles and crystal clear waters, was recognised as one of the world’s 30 most beautiful bays in 2009 by the Club of the World’s Best Bays (Worldbays).
Located in Thua Thien-Hue Province’s Phu Loc District, Lang Co Beach is some 30km from Da Nang and 70km from Hue. It is in close proximity to three of the country’s world heritage sites: the ancient citadel of Hue, the ancient town of Hoi An, and My Son sanctuary.
Visitors can take a leisurely walk around Lang Co fishing village not far from the beach to witness the daily life of local fishermen. They are also advised to try various kinds of seafood such as shrimp, lobster, crab, butter-fish, mackerel, and oysters.

Lang Co is an attractive island-like stretch of palm-shaded white sand, with a turquoise lagoon on one side and 10km of beachfront on the other. As a beach resort it’s more geared to Vietnamese day trippers than Western travellers, but if the weather’s nice the ocean is certainly inviting (if you stay away from the central section, which could be cleaner).
High season is April to July. From late August till November, rains are frequent, and from December to March it can get chilly.
